Understanding the schedule and planning revision accordingly is crucial for effective preparation. The following sections outline the key dates, subject-wise gaps, exam-day rules, and strategic advice for maximizing performance.
Key Exam Dates and Subject Sequence
The exam schedule specifies the order and dates for major subjects, allowing students to prioritize their revision. Notable gaps between papers offer opportunities for focused study and revision.
- Psychology: 12th February (for students with Psychology)
- English Paper 1: 13th February
- English Paper 2: 16th February (2 days gap after Paper 1)
- Chemistry: 23rd February (7 days after English Paper 2)
- Biology: 6th March (11 days after Chemistry)
- Mathematics: Date not explicitly stated, but less gap for students with both Maths and Biology
- Physics: 16th March (after Mathematics, with a 6-day gap)
- Physical Education: 18th March (2 days after Physics)
Subject-Wise Preparation Windows
The date sheet provides varying preparation windows for different subjects. Students should utilize these gaps for targeted revision, especially for subjects with longer intervals.
- English: 2 days between Paper 1 and Paper 2, suitable for reviewing literature and language components.
- Chemistry: 7 days after English, ample time for thorough revision and practice.
- Biology: 11 days after Chemistry, ideal for in-depth revision of Botany and Zoology.
- Physics: 6 days after Mathematics, sufficient for revisiting difficult chapters and practicing problem-solving.
- Mathematics: Less gap for students with both Maths and Biology; early preparation is essential.
Exam Day Rules and Requirements
Strict adherence to exam day protocols is mandatory. Students must follow the specified guidelines regarding attire, permitted items, and conduct.
- Uniform: Wear the prescribed uniform based on your board type (open or regular).
- Stationery: Carry only blue or black ink pens; do not bring colorful pens or pencils except for diagrams.
- Biology Diagrams: Use only pencil for diagrams in Biology; no other writing instrument is allowed for diagrams.
- Prohibited Items: Do not bring extra textbooks, smartwatches, or mobile phones.
- Calculator: Calculators are allowed for Mathematics calculations, but confirm with the latest board instructions.
- Personal Responsibility: Bring your own pens; do not rely on borrowing from friends at the last minute.
Effective Use of Reading Time
The initial reading time provided before the exam is critical for strategizing your approach to the paper. Many students waste this period, but it should be used to analyze the paper and plan answers.
- Purpose: Use reading time to assess the entire question paper and decide the order of attempting questions.
- Strategy: Identify questions you are confident about and allocate time accordingly.
- Avoid Wasting Time: Do not treat reading time as unimportant; your exam effectively begins the moment you receive the paper.
Revision and Preparation Strategy
Consistent and early preparation is emphasized to avoid last-minute stress. The gaps between exams should be used for revision, not for initial study.
- Start Early: Begin preparing well before the exam dates; do not wait for the gaps to start studying.
- Revision Cycles: Complete at least two to three rounds of revision before the exam period begins.
- Notes: Ensure your notes are complete and organized for quick revision.
- Practice PYQs: Use the final revision period to practice previous years’ questions (PYQs) for better familiarity with exam patterns.
Managing Multiple Subjects and Optional Papers
Students with both Mathematics and Biology (PCMB) or optional subjects face tighter schedules and must plan accordingly.
- Time Management: Those with both Maths and Biology have less time between these papers; prioritize early and parallel preparation.
- No Regrets: Accept your subject choices and focus on maximizing your performance rather than regretting the workload.
- Consistent Effort: Maintain steady preparation throughout the year, especially if attending classes for multiple subjects.
Stress Management and Motivation
Exam stress is common among all students, regardless of their academic standing. Converting stress into motivation and maintaining a positive mindset is essential.
- Universal Stress: Both toppers and average students experience exam pressure; it is normal.
- Convert Fear to Power: Use stress as a driving force to enhance your preparation.
- Preparedness Reduces Fear: The more prepared you are, the less anxious you will feel.
- Teacher Support: Remember that teachers’ blessings and support are always with you.
Answer Presentation and Scoring Tips
Neatness and clarity in answer scripts, especially in Biology, can significantly impact scoring. Diagrams and structured answers are important.
- Neat Answers: Write answers clearly and legibly for better impression and evaluation.
- Biology Diagrams: Always include well-drawn diagrams in Botany and Zoology answers; diagrams contribute to scoring.
- Diagram Rules: Use only pencil for diagrams in Biology, as per instructions.
- Structured Responses: Organize answers logically and avoid clutter.
Common Pitfalls and How to Avoid Them
Certain mistakes can be easily avoided with proper planning and awareness of rules.
- Last-Minute Preparation: Do not postpone studying to the gaps between exams; use these for revision only.
- Borrowing Stationery: Avoid relying on others for pens or calculators; bring your own.
- Ignoring Reading Time: Do not underestimate the importance of the initial reading period.
- Breaking Exam Rules: Follow all instructions regarding uniforms, permitted items, and conduct to avoid unnecessary stress.

Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow.
Teaching is one of the main components in educational planning which is a key factor in conducting educational plans. Despite the importance of good teaching, the outcomes are far from ideal. The present qualitative study aimed to investigate effective teaching in higher education in Iran based on the experiences of the best professors in the country and the best local professors at the Isfahan University of Technology.
This qualitative content analysis study was conducted through purposeful sampling. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with ten faculty members (3 of them from the best professors in the country and 7 from the best local professors). Content analysis was performed by MAXQDA software. The codes, categories, and themes were explored through an inductive process that began with semantic units or direct quotations to general themes.
According to the results of this study, the best teaching approach is the mixed method (student-centered together with teacher-centered) plus educational planning and previous readiness. But whenever the teachers can teach using this method confront with some barriers and requirements; some of these requirements are prerequisites in professors' behavior and some of these are prerequisites in professors’ outlook. Also, there are some major barriers, some of which are associated with the professors’ operation and others are related to laws and regulations. Implications of these findings for teachers’ preparation in education are discussed.
In the present study, it was illustrated that a good teaching method helps the students to question their preconceptions, and motivates them to learn, by putting them in a situation in which they come to see themselves as the authors of answers, as the agents of responsibility for change. But training through this method has some barriers and requirements. To have an effective teaching; the faculty members of the universities should be awarded of these barriers and requirements as a way to improve teaching quality. The nationally and locally recognized professors are good leaders in providing ideas, insight, and the best strategies to educators who are passionate about effective teaching in higher education. Finally, it is supposed that there is an important role for nationally and locally recognized professors in higher education to become more involved in the regulation of teaching rules.
